Workplace safety – Top priority

The Telco industry adopts a new safety protocol as we transition to a post COVID-19 workplace environment.

Our industry recognises the health and safety of our customers and team members is our highest priority.

We must ensure our employees’ health and wellbeing is not compromised as they continue to provide essential connectivity and communications services to all Australians.

The Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA) and its member representatives participated in an industry working group coordinated by Communications Alliance to establish a post COVID-19 protocol for the Communications sector.

This document will provide a baseline protocol for our industry to prioritise the safety of our employees and customers as we recover from enormous disruption created by the pandemic and put in place new or restored working arrangements.

The industry recognises that there are important public health considerations at stake, as well as the obvious employee welfare and safety concerns. The protocol addresses information on the expected behaviours and protocols required to keep employees, customers, contractors, consultants, visitors and other partners safe.
