5G – health and safety update

During the COVID-19 emergency our health and safety is of paramount concern. Equally, staying connected via mobile and broadband technologies is central to how we live – both professionally and personally.

Importantly, AMTA remains committed to ensure the latest information and research into the health and safety of mobile phone networks is available to all Australians. The release of our latest fact sheet provides important insights into 5G health and safety standard updates, and the rejection of any link between 5G and COVID-19.

Supplementary Information:

The International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) have released a statement rejecting the claims that 5G is associated with COVID-19. ICNIRP states these claims are not supported by any evidence (not even extremely weak evidence), and the large body of scientific knowledge regarding the EMFs relevant to 5G demonstrates that those claims are not feasible. EMF exposure from 5G devices does not cause COVID-19, nor does it have any effect on the disease process or health outcomes of those who are infected by the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) that causes COVID-19.
