AMTA’s MobileMuster recognised as a global leader in mobile recycling
Monday, 8 December, 2025: We’re proud to share that the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association’s mobile product stewardship program MobileMuster has been featured in the World Economic Forum’s latest report, titled “Nature Positive: Role of the Tech Sector.”
This recognition highlights MobileMuster as a world-leading example of mobile recycling and industry collaboration. By working together with manufacturers, network providers, and retailers, we’ve built a program that ensures old devices are responsibly recycled and valuable materials are recovered, reducing waste and protecting our planet.

Circularity isn’t just a goal, it’s a business necessity. The United Nations’ fourth Global E-waste Monitor estimates that over 62 million tonnes of eWaste was produced globally in 2022, and this is on track to hit 82 million tonnes by 2030. In Australia, around 580 million kilograms of eWaste was produced in 2022. Meanwhile only 22.3% of the year’s global eWaste mass was documented as having been properly collected and recycled in 2022, the report found.
Through industry-led collective action, we’re proving that sustainable solutions can scale and deliver real impact.
