Lost & Stolen

The AMTA recommends customers contact their mobile service provider immediately when their mobile device is lost or stolen.  Upon request, their mobile service provider can block the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number which renders the mobile device incapable of connecting to any mobile network in Australia. IMEI blocking has proven to be a valuable tool in reducing mobile phone theft.

Contact your mobile service provider (ie. the company you pay for your mobile service calls).

Numbers for customer service:

Telstra 125111

Optus 133937

Vodafone 1555 on your mobile or 1300 650 410

Virgin Mobile 1300 555 100

Lycamobile 122 on your mobile or 1300 854 607

Lebara 126 122 on your mobile or 1300 126 122

Request your mobile service provider to block the handset’s IMEI number

Please note: This service cannot track or locate lost or stolen mobile phones

Please see Security Tips for more information

WARNING: IMEI checks only provide details of those phones reported and blocked at the time of the inquiry therefore it is not conclusive. If the owner of the phone does not report it lost or stolen, the resulting IMEI check cannot identify it as a lost or stolen handset.
